CAT - Common Admission Test

About CAT Exam:-
The Common Admission Test, popularly known as CAT is an all India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the management programs of its 11 business schools and top MBA schools.

This year IIM-Indore will be conducting CAT Aptitude Test for taking admission to various management programs of IIMs.

Eligibility for CAT Exam:-
The candidate must hold a bachelor’* degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by any of the recognized universities or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’ degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

Paper Pattern for CAT Entrance:-
  • CAT exam comprises two sections that are separately timed.
  • Each of the sections will be 1 hour and 10 minutes (i.e. 70 minutes).
  • There will be 30 questions in each section.
  • The sections are Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation,Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.
  • Once a section ends, aspirants can no longer go back to it.
  • Aspirants will be presented with the section on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation first, followed by CAT Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.

How to Register for CAT Exam?
  • Check your eligibility for CAT exam on www.catiim.in.
  • Before registering and scheduling for CAT entrance exam, you will need to purchase an IIM CAT voucher from any of the selected Axis Bank branches.
  • Interested candidates can register.
  • Ensure you have a valid and unique email address before you begin the registration process.
  • During registration, you will have to create a profile, fill out the CAT application and schedule your CAT online test.
  • Once you complete the application and choose the “agree” button, all your information will be entered and saved into prometric’* computerized data entry system. After your information has been successfully saved, a copy of your application will be emailed to you within 24 hours to the email address specified by you.
  • Once your application has been successfully submitted, you can continue the online process to schedule an appointment to take the CAT unless you are a DA candidate who has selected support requirements for the CAT test.
  • If all information has been entered correctly, you will see a confirmation screen. You should read the confirmation screen to make sure all information is correct. If something is not correct, click the “Edit” button in the area where there correction needs to be made.
  • When you receive your admit card by email, you should read it carefully and verify all information is correct. You should then print a copy.  You must bring the admit card with you on the day you take your CAT examination. You will not be allowed to give CAT entrance without the admit card.
  • You have to purchase a Common Aptitude Test voucher from selected list of Axis Bank branches prior to beginning the online registration process.
